What are the pieces of advice and supplications that a husband and wife should mention when they are intimate with each other?
Among the Prophet's traditions (Sunan) for a man upon entering his wife is to take her forelock and supplicate with the reported prayer, and to pray two rak'ahs with her, and to supplicate with: "O Allah, bless me in my family, and bless them in me. O Allah, grant me provision from them and grant them provision from me. O Allah, unite us if You unite us for good, and separate us if You separate us for good."
As for the etiquettes of sexual intercourse, they are as follows: 1. Perfuming oneself before intercourse. 2. Foreplay with the wife before it. 3. Saying the reported supplication at the time of intercourse: "In the name of Allah. O Allah, keep Shaytan away from us, and keep Shaytan away from what You grant us." 4. Permissibility of intercourse in the vagina from the front or the back. 5. Not withdrawing until the wife has fulfilled her desire. 6. Prohibition of intercourse with a menstruating woman or in the anus. 7. Prohibition of divulging the secrets of marital intimacy. 8. Obligation of performing ghusl (ritual bath) after intercourse even if ejaculation does not occur. 9. Modesty during intercourse is permissible, even if the reported hadith regarding it is weak.
Adhering to these etiquettes, along with lowering the gaze, feeling gratitude for the blessing, and having a good intention, achieves lawful sexual gratification.
