Is it permissible for us to take an amount exceeding the price of the goods from Aramex as compensation for damage resulting from their error?

If the shipping company was negligent in preserving the goods or fell short, then it guarantees their value if they are appraised, or their like if they are fungible. You are not permitted to guarantee them for more than that.
