The default ruling for a man inviting a woman is permissibility if the Islamic guidelines are observed, such as avoiding seclusion () and mixing (ikhtilat), and lowering the gaze. However, it is difficult to achieve these guidelines, and often, inviting women corrupts a man's religion and morals due to the temptation of women, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I have not left behind me any temptation more harmful to men than women," and "Beware of the world and beware of women, for the first temptation of the Children of Israel was with women."
