What should a religious woman, married and a mother of two daughters, do when she has been suffering for three years from an unknown illness that doctors have been unable to diagnose and treat, and reading the Quran, books of supplication, and engaging in remembrance of Allah have not helped her, to the point that she resorted to a soothsayer, yet she was unable to remove what was said to be an "evil eye," and her life has become unbearable?

It is recommended to consult doctors and to seek out a righteous and upright raqi (healer who performs ruqyah), one who relies on his Lord, and for the ruqyah to be in accordance with the Sharia and authentically narrated. Rely solely on Allah, repent from going to soothsayers, and exercise patience and contentment with Allah's decree, while taking the necessary means and striving in acts of worship and supplication. Indeed, He, Glorified be He, is the remover of harm and the answerer of the distressed.
