Is it permissible to show a visual play about the history of Jerusalem, free of music, in which one of the actors wears a cross as a priest, with the aim of connecting Muslims to their contemporary issues?

Mosques were built for the remembrance of Allah, the establishment of prayer, and the teaching of religious sciences. They must be protected from idle talk, amusement, and every false statement or action. Presenting plays, even if they have a religious character, is not befitting the sanctity of the mosque because they are based on acting and depiction, which are principles of amusement. Muslims should have dispensed with them through teaching. Acting is often not free of objectionable elements, and if these films must be shown, let it be outside the mosque.
