What is the ruling on purchasing additional features, such as playtime or services, in online games?

It is permissible to pay a fee for extended viewing time, but it is more befitting for a Muslim to preserve their time and wealth and not squander them on what brings no benefit in this world or the hereafter, for they will be held accountable for both. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The feet of a servant will not move on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about four: about his youth and how he spent it, about his life and how he used it up, and about his wealth: from where he acquired it and on what he spent it." He also said: "Seize five before five: your free time before your preoccupation, and your youth before your old age."
