Is playing bridge with cards, which distracts from the remembrance of Allah and causes family problems, forbidden (haram) or permissible (halal)?

It is not permissible to be preoccupied with play if it distracts one from the remembrance of Allah and prayer, or if it leads to neglecting one's family and squandering their rights. Everything that hinders a Muslim from the remembrance of Allah and prayer is impermissible. A Muslim should utilize their time in what benefits them in their religious and worldly affairs.
