What is the wisdom behind prohibiting the drawing of animate beings, even though trees—which are God's creation—do not possess a soul, while you mentioned in a previous fatwa that the wisdom is to avoid emulating God's creation?

The majority of scholars are of the opinion that it is permissible to draw and depict inanimate objects such as trees and rivers, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever draws a picture in this world will be commanded to breathe life into it on the Day of Resurrection, but he will not be able to breathe life into it," and based on the story of Gabriel with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, where he commanded him to cut off the head of the statue to make it resemble a tree. Ibn Abbas also issued a fatwa (definition) to this effect when a man who made pictures asked him about it, and he said to him: "You should stick to this tree, anything that does not have a soul."
