Is love in general forbidden or permissible, and what is the ruling on the type of love I have described, with evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah?

It is permissible to wish to marry a specific woman and to ask Allah and supplicate Him for that at all times and under all circumstances, except during the obligatory prayers, where scholars have differed on its permissibility. It is not appropriate to correspond with her without need. Rather, it is advisable to propose to her to safeguard oneself, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "O young people, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him marry."
