How can a marriage be successful and in accordance with the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him?

"Seek a woman of religion and good character, who is fertile and affectionate. Avoid forbidden practices in the engagement and wedding, and let your marriage be Islamic. On the wedding night, pray two rak'ahs with your wife and recite the prescribed dhikr. Live with your family kindly, and teach her the rulings of marital life and the rights of the husband. The two pillars of the marital relationship are affection and mercy, so be keen to strengthen them."
