Is the rule of benefit and harm (Maslahah and Mafsadah) considered in creed ('Aqidah)?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Sharia considers benefits and harms (masalih and mafasid), and among these is its prohibition against reviling the deities of the polytheists, so that they do not revile Allah. And among these is its permissibility for one to utter a word of disbelief when coerced, and the delay in rebuilding the Kaaba upon the foundations of Abraham (peace be upon him) out of consideration for the feelings of Quraysh, due to their recent emergence from the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance).
