I used to pray wearing pants with holes in the thigh, and I know the limits of 'awrah, and I sometimes covered them as a precaution, and I doubt the validity of my prayer. Should the prayers be repeated?

"Praise be to Allah, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and companions, and then:

If a small part of the thigh is uncovered through the openings of the pants, the prayer is valid and there is no need to repeat it. If the exposure is more than slight, the prayer is valid according to the Maliki school and those who consider that a man's thigh is not part of the 'awrah.

The majority of scholars hold that the prayer is invalid if the thigh is uncovered, except for the Maliki school who do not see invalidation. Some scholars have gone to the opinion that the thigh is not part of the 'awrah. According to the Maliki school, there is no repetition required for a man exposing his thigh during prayer, unlike a woman who should repeat it within the time if preferable, whether the exposure was intentional, due to ignorance, or forgetfulness."
