Is it permissible to go to Jeddah every day during the days of Tashreeq and return to Mina at night, and how many hours must one spend in Mina at night to fulfill the requirement of staying overnight?

The Sunnah (definition) for the pilgrim is to remain in Mina throughout the day, following the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and he must spend most of the night there. There is no harm if he leaves Mina during the day to Makkah or elsewhere, especially if it is due to the lack of a place to sit, but it is preferable to remain in Mina, following the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The criterion for spending the night in Mina is that the pilgrim stays there for more than half of the night, and the hours of the night are calculated from sunset until dawn.
