The question

What is the ruling on hearing sounds from the anus that do not exit its opening? Do they invalidate ablution and prayer with their repetition? Are they a form of waswasah (whispering from Satan)? And what is the ruling on ablution and prayer when there is the smell of feces or sweat in the anal region without the presence of the actual impurity?

The answer

Whoever is certain that wind has exited from the anus, whether with a sound or a scent, his ablution is nullified. But whoever is not certain, his ablution remains valid, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "If one of you finds something in his stomach and is unsure whether something has exited from him or not, then he should not leave the mosque until he hears a sound or finds a scent."

As for the presence of the smell of impurity after washing it, it indicates its persistence. However, if it is difficult to remove the smell after thoroughly purifying the area with water, it is pardoned, and the area is considered pure.
