Who is telling the truth: the wife who denied the accusations of the immoral man, or the immoral man who said she was pursuing him?
It is not permissible to harbor ill-will towards a Muslim woman unless evil is known to have come from her, especially if the news comes from a transgressor (fasiq), as Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate." Therefore, pay no attention to the words of the transgressor, especially after your wife swore that he is a liar. There is no need to inquire about whom your wife wanted before marriage. Rather, the marital relationship must be built on affection and trust, turning a new leaf, and repenting to Allah. You must be cautious of seeking out the faults of others, for whoever seeks out their faults, Allah will seek out his faults and expose him in his home, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said.
