Is a wife's refusal to have intercourse—due to her suffering from depression, pain, and lack of enjoyment, and her desire to reduce the frequency of intercourse—considered unlawful (haram), especially when her husband says that angels curse her upon refusal?

It is recommended to supplicate, remember Allah, and perform ruqyah (Islamic exorcism) to ward off the causes leading to stress and depression. A wife must answer her husband's call to bed unless there is a legitimate شرعي excuse. Mere dislike of intercourse or depression does not justify refusal unless it leads to actual harm. A husband is not permitted to prevent his wife from seeking psychological treatment unless there is a legitimate شرعي justification. Understanding should prevail between the spouses to observe rights and achieve family harmony.
