Is it correct to say, "Truth has appeared and falsehood has vanished," after hearing the Azan?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Sunnah for the listener of the Athan is to repeat after it, then to send blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and then to recite the narrated supplication. There is no evidence for the desirability of saying "Truth has come, and falsehood has vanished" after the Athan. Therefore, one should not regularly say it at this time, for fear of falling into an innovative addition (bid'ah idafiyyah).
