What is the ruling of the religion on a pregnant woman aborting her fetus to avoid weaning her nine-month-old child?

It is not permissible for a pregnant woman to abort the fetus unless a reliable medical report confirms that the mother's life is in danger, or that the fetus has died in her womb, bearing in mind that Islam encourages procreation.

It is permissible to use temporary birth control methods for a valid reason, such as protecting an infant or safeguarding the mother's health. It is also permissible to wean a child before the two-year mark if there is a benefit and the child no longer needs milk, as Allah Almighty says: "But if they both desire weaning by mutual consent and consultation, there is no blame upon them."
