What is the ruling on cursing, hating, slandering one's father, and not giving charity on his behalf, based on his neglect, favoritism, and allowing animosity to grow between his children?
The injustice of a father does not negate his right over his child, for the right of parents is immense. It is impermissible to curse a father or supplicate against him, as this is among the gravest sins. However, the heart's dislike for him due to his injustice is not blameworthy, but it must not lead to disobedience. Withholding charity from him is not forbidden. One must repent from disobedience by feeling remorse, abandoning the sin, resolving never to return to it, and rectifying past wrongs by honoring him through supplication and seeking forgiveness for him, giving charity on his behalf, maintaining kinship ties through him, and honoring his friends.
