How can one quit smoking hashish and remain steadfast in righteousness, given the prevalence of sins among friends?
Seek help from Allah and supplicate to Him to remove from your heart the love for disobedience and to strengthen you in His religion. Maintain the obligatory acts of worship, especially the five daily prayers with the congregation, for indeed, prayer prohibits indecency and evil. Bring to mind the harm of disobedience and the ominousness of its outcome. Adopt righteous company that will assist you in obedience, and distance yourself from evil companions. Adhere to the remembrance of Allah, strive in supererogatory acts of worship, listen to beneficial tapes and read beneficial books on admonition, reflect on the names and attributes of Allah, on death and what comes after it, and remember that Allah is aware of you.
