Is it permissible to use the usurious bank interest left in the account—which is the product of a sum of money deposited by the father and then withdrawn by him—to prepare for marriage or to assist the husband in furnishing the home?

Usurious gains are illicit earnings. One must dispose of them by spending them on Muslim welfare projects or giving them to the poor and needy. It is not permissible for the one who acquired them to benefit from them unless they are poor and in need, in which case they may take from it what suffices their need. Therefore, it is not permissible for you to take these gains to prepare for your marriage or for any other purpose unless you are poor and in need. Nor is it permissible to give them to your husband unless he is poor and in need. Furthermore, it is not permissible to deposit money in usurious banks unless it is the only means available to safeguard one's money.
