What will be the state of the believing man and woman on the Day of Resurrection?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) informed us that on the Day of Resurrection, the believer will experience intense fear until his affair is decided. People will be gathered on a single plain, the sun will draw near to them, and they will be overwhelmed by grief and distress. They will then turn to the prophets seeking intercession, but each will excuse himself, until they reach Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who will intercede for them. The sun will draw so close to creation that it will be at a distance of one mil, and people will be submerged in sweat according to their deeds. People will be gathered in three ways: those eager and those fearful, or two, three, four, or ten on one camel, and the rest will be driven by fire. People will be gathered barefoot, naked, and uncircumcised. However, there are categories of people whom Allah will shade on the Day when there is no shade but His, and they are: a just ruler; a youth who grew up in the worship of his Lord; a man whose heart is attached to the mosques; two men who loved each other for Allah's sake; a man who was tempted by a woman of high status and beauty but said, "Indeed, I fear Allah"; a man who gave charity so secretly that his left hand did not know what his right hand had given; and a man who remembered Allah in solitude, and his eyes overflowed with tears.
