Does prayer become invalid by leaning on a wall or anything else to rise from prostration?

Scholars have differed on the manner of rising from prostration to standing. Some are of the view that one should rely on the hands, citing the actions of some Companions and the Hadith (definition) of Malik ibn al-Huwayrith, and this is the opinion of Malik, al-Shafi'i, and Ishaq. Others are of the view that one should rise on the balls of the feet without relying on the hands, and this is the opinion of Ibn Mas'ud, Uthman, and Ali, and it was adopted by al-Nakha'i, al-Thawri, Abu Hanifah, and Ahmad.

Those who advocate not relying on the hands interpreted the Hadith of Malik ibn al-Huwayrith as an action he performed out of necessity or weakness. Scholars have agreed on the permissibility of relying on the hands for anyone for whom standing without doing so is difficult, whether due to illness, old age, or weakness. Similarly, it is permissible for anyone for whom standing is difficult to rely on an external object such as a chair, a wall, or a stick.
