What is meant by sectarian taqlid and a muqallid?

Linguistically, taqlid means: placing something around the neck, encompassing it, and metaphorically, entrusting a matter to someone else. Technically, it means: accepting a statement without knowing its evidence, or accepting someone else's statement without proof. Thus, a muqallid is one who accepts the statement of someone other than the Prophet (peace be upon him) without knowing the basis of the statement's owner from the evidence.
