Was the Qur’an revealed in seven extant modes (Ahruf) or have they been lost? And if they have been lost, then what is the meaning of His, the Almighty’s, saying: "Indeed, it is We who sent down the Dhikr (Qur’an) and indeed, We will be its guardian"?

The Qur’an was revealed in seven ahruf (modes/readings) as an ease for the Ummah, and these ahruf remain preserved. Some scholars have interpreted them as the aspects that allow for variation and difference, and they do not exceed seven aspects: variations in names, variations in grammatical inflections, omission and addition,前置 and postponement, substitution, and variations in dialects.

The Qur’an is preserved; nothing has been lost from it except what the revelation indicated was abrogated.
