Is concealing academic references from colleagues for competitive reasons considered a sin?

It is not obligatory to show colleagues books and references, but enabling them to benefit from them involves benefiting others, spreading knowledge, and loving good for others, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) sayings: "Whoever among you can benefit his brother, let him do so," and "The best of companions in the sight of Allah is the one who is best to his companion."
