Is it permissible to supplicate against a husband who wronged me and abandoned me after I became pregnant, knowing that I was patient with him and endured his demands, and despite my love for him, he no longer returned to me?

The sister should turn to Allah and ask Him to reward her for her affliction and compensate her with something better, and she should supplicate with the supplication for affliction. She should know that what has befallen her may be a trial and a test to elevate her status and expiate sins, and she should be patient and content with Allah's decree, for in that lies a great reward and good for her.

Moreover, the wife's maintenance and household expenses are obligatory upon the husband, and compelling the wife to bear any of that is an injustice to her and consumption of her wealth unlawfully. A man who oppresses his wife and burdens her with what is not legally or customarily incumbent upon her has violated the saying of Allah the Almighty: "And live with them honorably," and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) وصايا (admonitions/instructions) concerning women. It is permissible to supplicate against an oppressor, though forgiveness is better.

It is advisable to turn to Allah with sincere supplication to relieve distress, facilitate matters, and turn her heart away from this man, for perhaps her separation from him is better for her, as Allah is gentle with His servants.
