Does the warning of the Prophet (PBUH) about the presence of excessive household items and furnishings in the home apply to sofas?

The prohibition against acquiring bedding beyond necessity has been reported, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "One bed is for a man, one for his wife, a third for a guest, and the fourth is for Satan." There is a difference of opinion regarding its meaning: Is it to be taken literally, that Satan sleeps on the extra bed, or does it mean that anything extra is blameworthy and attributed to Satan because he approves of it and whispers (evil thoughts) through it? The second opinion is the more probable. This applies to both bedding and sofas; anything exceeding necessity is blameworthy because it involves extravagance and wasting money. If the sofas are needed by a man and his family or for guests, then there is no harm in them. However, if they are superfluous to need, then they constitute blameworthy extravagance.
