What is the ruling on the work of a fashion designer who draws female mannequins to illustrate the shape of the model, knowing that she does not draw details, and if drawing in this manner is forbidden (haram), must she leave her job even though she is not skilled in anything else?

There is no objection to drawing a body without a head, for a picture is identified by its head, and if the head is cut off, there is no picture. Obliterating the features of the face by removing the eyes, nose, and mouth is considered disfigurement of the image. The questioner must observe the Shariah guidelines in dealing with women and matters related to the clothes themselves.
