How can the Holy Qur’an be divided for its interpretation?

Scholars have differed in classifying the topics of the Holy Qur’an. Some have divided them into three sections: Tawhid (Monotheism), Tadhkir (Admonition), and Ahkam (Rulings), as Ibn al-Arabi did. Others have made them six sections, as al-Ghazali did, dividing them into three important fundamentals (defining that to which one is invited, the straight path, and the state upon reaching it), and three complementary sub-sections (defining the states of those who respond and those who renege, recounting the states of the deniers, and defining the cultivation of the stations along the path).
