Belief in Islam necessitates believing in the perfection of its legislations and their comprehensiveness of matters pertaining to religion and worldly life, and that they achieve the welfare of creation in their lives and their afterlife. Preserving the five necessities, including honor, is mandated by divine laws and sound intellects. Morality and chastity are means of preserving them. If the Law were to abandon enjoining good character and forbidding bad character, it would lead to aggression, injustice, and corruption in society, as evidenced by nations that do not uphold morals.
