What is the meaning of Al-Ihsan?

The original meaning of Ihsan (excellence/perfection) is mastery and precision, as in His (Allah's) saying: "Who perfected everything which He created," and His saying: "The handiwork of Allah Who perfected everything." It may also be a reward for mastery in this world: "Is the reward of Ihsan (goodness) but Ihsan (goodness)?" Ihsan is also used to describe being mindful of Allah in worship, as explained by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "To worship Allah as if you see Him, for if you do not see Him, He surely sees you." Allah has commanded Ihsan in all things.
