What is the Islamic ruling on a man matching the color of his shemagh, thobe, and sandals, considering this to be an outward manifestation of his religious commitment?

It is permissible for a man to wear clothes or sandals of a single color in pursuit of beauty, provided that this is within the bounds of the Sharia, and that it is free from seeking fame, and from imitating disbelievers, innovators, or transgressors. It is narrated in the Hadith that Allah is beautiful and loves beauty, and that arrogance is rejecting the truth and despising people. Also, there is a prohibition against wearing clothes of fame and imitating others. It is preferable that this attire not be a permanent habit, due to the potential for seeking fame therein.
