Is it permissible to write or recite the poetic verse: "By the life of glory, there is nothing difficult in glory, degradation befalls whoever fears death," and is this considered swearing by other than Allah?

Swearing by "By the life of glory" is like swearing by "By my life." Scholars have differed on its ruling, between permissibility, detestability, and prohibition. The most preponderant opinion is permissibility, due to the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying in the ruqyah (exorcism) hadith: "By my life, whoever earns from a false ruqyah, you have earned from a true ruqyah." The phrase "By your life" has become a common expression among Arabs, not intended as a true oath by other than Allah, as narrated in the saying of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): "May Allah forgive Abu Abd al-Rahman, by my life, he did not perform Umrah in Rajab." So there is no harm in reciting or writing the verse, and it is not considered an oath by other than Allah.
