Is a man's unwillingness to see his wife, sisters, or mother in un-Islamic attire, his unwillingness for others to look at them with lust, and his desire for them to wear the hijab considered hypocrisy, because it is not a matter of what is lawful and unlawful?

Your dislike of your family's displaying their adornments (tabarruj) is out of protective jealousy (gheerah) for them, which is a sign of faith and sound innate disposition (fitra). For protective jealousy is among the morals of the believer, and its opposite is cuckoldry (dayoothah), which is a blameworthy and legally forbidden trait. Nevertheless, it is better for you to bring to mind the intention of complying with Allah's command to avoid what is forbidden, for whoever's heart bears witness to the meaning of servitude and compliance will have a greater reward and more complete servitude.
