Is a wife considered disobedient (nashiz) if her husband reciprocates her quarrel, and is she entitled to seek divorce?

It is not permissible for your husband to refrain from speaking with you and to insult you unless there is a legitimate Shar'i (Islamic legal) justification for it, and he must repent if he has done so. You are not disobedient (nashiz) by refraining from speaking with him if he was the one who insulted and abandoned you. We advise you not to meet harshness with harshness, and to be better than him by initiating conversation and reconciliation, for the best of those who have forsaken each other is the one who begins with the greeting of peace.
