What is the way to make worship out of fear of torment, not out of greed for worldly matters?

True worship is based on sincerity and adherence (to the Sunnah). A good deed is that which conforms to the Sunnah, and a pure deed is that which is intended for the sake of Allah. Worship must combine fear and hope, for feeling secure from Allah's plan is a major sin. The servant must hasten to repent, for whoever worships Allah without fear of His punishment or hope for His reward, or out of greed for worldly gains, is in grave danger. The Noble Verses warn against desiring the transient world and give good tidings to those who desire the Hereafter.
