Is the narrated tradition from Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, established, that he commanded a man to shave his beard after his wife complained about his appearance, and to which source can one refer to verify the authenticity of this tradition?

The mentioned narration about Umar was not reported. What is authentically reported from him is what Al-Tabari, Ibn Battal, and Al-Ayni transmitted: that he saw a man with a thick beard and ordered him to trim what exceeded a handful of it, saying, "Go and straighten your hair, or spoil it; one of you leaves himself until he looks like a wild beast." This indicates taking from the beard, not shaving it. Also attributed to him is rejecting the testimony of one who plucks his beard.
