Is subscribing to an employee savings fund permissible, where the university deducts a certain amount from the salary and adds double that amount, which is then invested for the university's benefit, with a guarantee of refunding the added amount (double) after five years or at the end of service? Is this permissible or usury (riba)?

The amount deposited by the employee into the fund is considered a loan to the university, and the university commits to adding double that amount to it so that the employee receives at the specified term the amount he subscribed with, along with what the university will add to it after investing the amount for its own benefit. This is usury (riba) because its reality is that the employee paid twenty to receive sixty after a term. Therefore, it is not permissible to subscribe to this fund. Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of riba, if you should be believers. And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may have your principal – [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged."
