It is not permissible to revile Zaynab bint al-Harith, as some huffaz ( masters) considered her among the female Companions. Ma'mar reported from al-Zuhri that she was the Jewish woman who poisoned the sheep for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. She later embraced Islam, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, left her alone. It is also said that he executed her in retaliation for Bishr ibn al-Bara'.
