It is permissible to sell a commodity with the seller undertaking to guarantee against manufacturing defects, which is known as "performance warranty" that covers technical and manufacturing malfunctions even if they are not considered defects. This warranty does not conflict with the warranty against hidden defects and does not include malfunctions resulting from misuse by the buyer. If a manufacturing defect appears in the sold car covered by the warranty, the buyer has the option, according to the Hanbalis, to either revoke the sale or keep it while taking compensation for the defect (arsh). If the manufacturer repairs the defect or replaces the part, the buyer has no right to demand anything additional from the seller.
