How can one attain the rank of the truthful (Siddiqin) and the foremost (Sabiqun), and what are the deeds that lead to it, and what is the difference between them? Does compelled lying remove a person from this rank? And what is the correct interpretation of the fact that the foremost (Sabiqun) are few from the nation of Muhammad, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him?

The Muqarraboon (those brought near) are those who are foremost in acts of obedience. They attain proximity to Allah on the Day of Judgment and become Allah's beloved ones by virtue of their acts of drawing near to Him through obligatory duties and supererogatory acts. The sign of true love is following the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, outwardly and inwardly. The Muqarraboon from this nation are more numerous than from others and hold a higher status. The Siddiqoon (the truthful ones) are among the Muqarraboon, and they are the most perfect. They are founded upon truthfulness in their words, deeds, and states, and they affirm the revelation with complete certainty, coupled with perfect submission to the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.
