For how long was Jesus's mother, peace be upon him, pregnant?

There is no definitive text from the Qur'an or Sunnah that specifies the duration of Mary's pregnancy with Jesus (peace be upon him). What has been reported in this regard are mere tales unsupported by evidence, such as those who said she was pregnant for eight months, or six, or nine. Perhaps the closest [to the truth] is the statement of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that she conceived and gave birth immediately. This is the apparent meaning, because Allah Almighty mentioned her withdrawing right after her conception.
