Is a husband entitled to pay his wife's mahr with the value of five thousand Dinars in gold, according to its value at the time of the contract, or according to its value after the rise in gold prices and the approaching divorce?

The wife's mahr (dowry) is what was agreed upon in the contract, which is gold valued at five thousand dinars. The change in the value of gold is not considered in determining the mahr. If the gold has already been given to her, the husband cannot reclaim it due to its increased value, as Allah Almighty says: "And if you wish to replace a wife in place of another, and you have given one of them a qintar, do not take anything from it. Would you take it by way of slander and manifest sin?" However, if the mahr has not yet been paid, then what is due is the equivalent value of five thousand dinars. And if the husband has gifted her gold in excess of her mahr, he cannot retract it after she has taken possession of it, according to the hadith: "The one who retracts his gift is like a dog that returns to its vomit."
