Has Iblis died, or is he still alive, if jinn do die?
Allah has tested humanity with Iblis, who requested to be granted respite until the Day of Resurrection to mislead humans. Allah Almighty answered him, granting him respite "until the Day of the Appointed Time." Scholars differed in interpreting "the Day of the Appointed Time" as either the Day of Resurrection or the Day of the First Trumpet blast, when all creatures will perish. The majority of scholars favored the latter, as there will be no death thereafter. Iblis is still alive and causing corruption on earth, as evidenced by his appearance in the battles of Badr and Uhud and the Prophet's seeing him. He has a throne on the sea from which he dispatches his legions to tempt people. Iblis will die at "the Appointed Time," like all other creatures.
