Is vowing to pray two rak'ahs of praise daily, morning and evening, considered a bid'ah (innovation)?
We have no knowledge of something called the two Rak'ahs of Hamd (Praise). The basic principle in acts of worship is Tawqif (restriction to what is prescribed in the Sharia). Therefore, the "Salat al-Hamd" would be an innovation (Bid'ah). What is prescribed, however, is the prostration of gratitude (Sajdat al-Shukr). Consequently, nothing is binding with this vow.
