Who was the first to document the Noble Prophetic Biography?

The Companions, during the era of Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, agreed to set the beginning of the Islamic calendar from the year of the Hijra (migration). This came about when a document was presented to Umar that was due in Sha'ban, and he questioned which Sha'ban was intended. So, he gathered the Companions and consulted them on establishing a calendar. Some suggested dating from the birth of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, others from his prophethood, and still others from his passing. However, Umar leaned towards dating from the Hijra due to its prominence and fame, and they concurred with him on that.
