Does the repeated repentance of an adulterer continue to be accepted by Allah? Are his prayers and fasting accepted while the forbidden relationship persists? And how can he free himself from attachment to this sin?

Adultery is a grave indecency, and Allah the Almighty has forbidden even approaching it. Whoever commits adultery loses their faith at the moment of committing the sin, but sincere repentance restores it. Sincere repentance requires remorse, abstaining from the sin and cutting off its causes, and a firm resolve never to return to it. Repentance is accepted as long as the servant has not reached the death rattle, and Allah loves those who repent. The questioner must sever her relationship with the person and stay away from him, and turn to Allah through supplication and drawing closer to Him through acts of obedience. One who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin.
