Is playing music at a marriage contract celebration, restricted to women, without dancing, for the purpose of joy, unlawful (haram)? And is preparing a music tape for that considered a sin?

The Sunnah in marriage is to announce it. It is permissible to beat the daff (tambourine) during it, as the young girls did at the wedding of Ar-Rabi' bint Mu'awwidh. Therefore, there is no objection to recording songs accompanied by the daff and playing them at women-only gatherings for the occasion of joy. However, if they are accompanied by musical instruments, wind instruments, and string instruments, it is not permissible to record them or listen to them.
