What are the legitimate Islamic controls and conditions for citing sources and references in electronic articles?

When quoting authors, it is required to attribute texts to their sources, with integrity in نقل (transmission/citation), avoidance of distortion and falsification, and for the writer not to mention sources he has not consulted or utilized.
